hey everyone what is up and we back with another blog and in today's blog we are going to discuss some tips and tricks which can help you in making a map that can help you in getting liked by people who plays
so without any further delay let's start
here we go.....
- make it symmetric:
probably this is one of the most important thongs to do while making a map and the reason behind this is that while playing a match the game could become unfair for anyone team and if they find that the match they played was unfair there was not gonna like and this increase the chance of not selected for the competition match so try to match the map as much symmetric as you can this is such an important that brawl stars team has added a multiple-way by which we can symmetric type you can place two objects horizontal or vertical or place on 4 symmetric places even after the season 4 update now we can place objects diagonally
the map is good for throwers and long-range brawler but not for short-range |
- don't make brawler specific:
now what you will see in most of the map is that maps are a bit brawler specific which you have to avoid at any cost and the reason behind is that player cannot see any image or any information about the map which you had uploaded for the entry-level competition so this means that they were gonna play your map blindfolded -ie no specific brawler no strategy they just go and try to win
so if you make any brawler specific map then get ready for rejection because there could be a high chance of rejection
for example: if you made a map which perfectly to play with dynamike or any other thrower then the player who is playing with a short-range brawler can get frustrated and dislike the map
so try to make a map that can be played with any brawler
if you don't have any idea how to make such a map then here is a quick tip
1. add some angled walls [helps throwers to play]
2. add grass so that player can hide[helps high DPS brawler to play]
3. leave some space at the center but not too much [this can help long-range brawler]
if you still face any problem then go and look out for the original maps which are made by brawl stars teams most of them are pretty amazing to get inspired like double swoosh or two thousand lakes.
- decide the type of map:
I highly recommended deciding first [if you didn't ]
before making a map decide which type of map you want to make basically we can classify the maps in different ways
1. competitive:
maps in which any brawler can be played but for that, they have to use their brain to optimize the brawler's ability in the match
ex most of the brawl stars original maps are competitive
2. funny or frustrating:
these are those maps in which you can use your mind or creativity to make a map there is only one criterion and that is it should be either frustrating or funny
for ex: if you want to make a which can be frustrating put a lot of teleporters and jump and that it for a while players will enjoy it but after some, they will start feeling frustrated and if you wanted to make it a more frustrating map then change the spawn position and initial position to somewhere else
- don't do unnecessary changes:
making a map which is fair for all is not possible but we have to achieve this by making some proper maps here fair means placing objects at the proper place making a competitive map and many more also what I saw today's is in most of the maps player changed the spawning position ie they placed one on the enemy side due to which one team become overpowered so I don't recommend you to change the spawning position
- more object more problem:
place only those objects which is necessary to place it is not mandatory to place all the object if you feel that it is required to place then only place and try to avoid using too many objects this can make the map look amazing but the user can have a bad experience while playing and he or she may dislike the map
the reason behind is that player is putting a lot of stuff even without thinking and when it comes to put teleporters or jump pad players become blind and place it like a skeleton which can break by a normal attack so were highly recommended you do not put too many stuff and even if you are placing then try to make there pathing clear so that player may not get confused
another reason behind this is that they will see the map for the first time so they don't have too much time to make the strategy so putting a lot of stuff may make it difficult to play
- keep it straightforward:
as we said player will don't have too much time to evaluate the map and decided the strategy so just don't place too many objects also don't focus on your design just try to keep the map simple and straightforward or keep the map easy to evaluate so that they can make strategy and enjoy the game
this is just an idea |
- make rough work:
if you don't have any idea or experience of making a map then a notebook and a pen and first make a rough sketch of what you want to make then begin on map maker in that way you will have an idea of what you have to make and you will make the map more quickly then ever before
- ask for feedback:
before you submit your map you need permission from the player who played so ask them for feedback and improve them
AT LAST...
AT last, the only thing I can say is you don't need to be too much creative for making the map just be simple and avoid using too many teleporters and jump pads I know these make the map fun to play but players may get frustrated by them so be very careful while placing any stuff
thank you...
